The
Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with the
aim of extending even more the bonds of fraternity and
solidarity existing between Lebanon and Venezuela, has
inaugurated, in the Information Hall of the Ministry of
Tourism of the Lebanese Republic, the exhibition «Between
the Peoples» formed of photographs by the artist Nicolás
Pineda that show various aspects of the life of ordinary
people in Lebanon and Venezuela through their everyday life,
their work and their integration with the architecture and
the landscape that surrounds them.
The
General Manager of the Ministry of Tourism in Lebanon, Mrs.
Nada Sardouk, in the name of the Minister of Tourism, Mr.
Joseph Sarkis, emphasized that this event represents an
invitation to the gathering, reconciliation and recognition
of diversity, showing the opportunities of friendship and
comprehension and inviting to the openness, to the
acknowledgement of rights and justice between the peoples.
On the
other hand, the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela, H.E. Zoed Karam D., announced that the opening of
the exhibition constitutes a tribute from the Venezuelan
people to the Lebanese people, for more than a year after
the brutal Israeli aggression against its territory, and on
the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the beginning of
the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela.
Nicolás
Pineda, who came especially from Venezuela to be present in
this occasion, satisfied with the public who attended the
opening of the exhibition, thanked the support of the
Venezuelan Ambassador and all its team, as well as the
authorities of the Ministry of Tourism in Lebanon. In
addition, he was touched by the acknowledgment awarded to
him during this event by the Lebanese Syndicate of Press
Photographers, represented by its President, Mr. Jamal
Saaidi.
The
exhibition «Between the Peoples» will remain open to the
public until March 1rst, everyday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. except on Sundays. Then it will be presented in the
Safadi Cultural and Sport Center in Tripoli, between the 6th
and
15th
of March 2008.
